Finding the Best Mobility Solution for Your Situation
Lift and Transfer Specialists has helped people with many types of conditions over the last 15 years. Whether it’s ALS, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, multi-sclerosis or another type of condition that impacts mobility, we’ve been able to help patients find the products that work or them.
Some of the patients who come to us have problems that are temporary. Even if that’s the case for you, we can still tailor a solution. Here’s a few examples of what we’re able to do for both long-term and short-term mobility issues:
Stander
This product looks like a sling on wheels. It allows the user to pull themselves out of bed and into a standing position, and then wheel themselves (or be wheeled) to the bathroom or other areas of the house.
Overhead Track System
This device is a little more involved than a stander. We mount a track on the ceiling and attach a sling to it. This allows a caregiver to move the patient from the bed to another room without the risk of accidentally dropping them.
Sure Hands Body Support
We’ve seen this device give back so many people their independence! Just like with an overhead track system, this is also mounted on the ceiling. The patient is able to move it with a remote, and by latching onto the grab bars, can move themselves from the bed to a wheelchair or to another room. It can even allow the patient to move into a standing position, which is handy when they are changing clothes.
Hygiene sling
This sling allows a caregiver to bathe the patient or move them on and off the toilet. We sell them with back support, if needed, or without, if you want to keep it simple.
Adjustable Changing Table
We do work with a number of school districts, and this solution works well for them! The table can adjust to the height of the caregiver, and it comes with slings, so the patient can be easily and safely moved afterwards.
Portable Motor
If you have multiple tracks in your home, this device can easily be removed and transferred from one track system to another. Nursing homes find this especially helpful, as they don’t have to purchase an individual motor for each track system.
